Retrace
the steps of George Popham, leader of the 1607 expedition from
Plymouth and London to colonise this part of the Maine coast. This well established resort is situated about 30 minutes drive from the outlet
shops of Freeport and 12 miles from the city of Bath, where
there are shops, restaurants and the Bath Maritime Museum. Located on the shores of Casco Bay, the resort is dominated by the absolute
beauty of the bay, off shore islands, the landscaped gardens
and golf course. There is a wide selection of 1 to 4 bedroom cottages, most with kitchenettes,
decks or porches, dotted around the shoreline, in the trees
or overlooking the golf course. The cone-shaped lighthouse has delightful de luxe en suite queen and double
rooms, some with ocean views, and an upstairs sitting room
with a superb all round panorama. The main inn has a selection of standard and superior en suite bedroom types
with views over the golf course, fresh water lake or estuary. Currently open between early May and late October. Rates are based on number of meals provided or breakfast and dinner included. The Golf Plan includes breakfast, dinner and unlimited golf. Many more amenities. |
