The capital of Massachusetts, founded in 1630, is America's 'Walking City'. All the major sights are accessible either on foot or by the excellent 'T' (tube); you can go just about anywhere. (Visitor Passes are available at Visitor Center, Boston Common.) The Freedom Trail is a walking tour through Boston's history. The trolley buses are excellent for touring Boston, too, as they include a narrated tour and allow you to step on and off as you wish along the route.
Boston's many attractions are suitable for all ages. It is impossible to do justice to this lovely city here other than to suggest that you allow 2-3 days of your holiday to explore and enjoy Boston.
You will find a wide variety of museums, attractions, tours, restaurants, galleries and theatres, China Town, the Italian sector, baseball games and of course plenty of excellent shops. |
