 About 6 miles to the old coastal towns of Clinton and Madison, a bit further to the lovely Connecticut River, at Essex or Chester. Provides a central base for exploring, about 30 miles south of Hartford and 35 miles to the Maritime Museum at Mystic. Lots of lovely restaurants just a short drive away. Set back from the road in two acres of garden, you will find peace and quiet in this delightful B & B. Two lovely cosy guest rooms each with private bath, lovely antique furniture and TV and VCR. Every morning you are greeted with the smell of home baked muffins, bread, or such like, and given a truly excellent breakfast. The house has a front porch and back porch, living room with fireplace and dining room. The owners have an antique shop in the barn and the house is full of interesting pieces. Now they are featuring hickory furniture. In the garden there is a lovely pool, with an awning to keep in the shade, as well as a hot tub. |
