The village of Ludlow nestles in the Black River valley. Though
once a small farming community, it is now a true 'resort town'. The
home of Okemo Mountain Ski Resort, the area bustles with excitement throughout
the winter months. It has restaurants and shops to suit all pockets,
with outlet shopping in Manchester and Rutland. Tour the picturesque
villages of Londonderry, Peru, Woodstock or Jamaica. In the summer,
the many activities include fishing, tennis, hiking, biking, horse riding,
canoeing, boating, swimming and open-air theatre. Or why not visit
a winery or a cheese farm? Wonderful views of the whole area can
be seen when you ride the cable car to the top of Okemo Mountain which
soars to 3,300 ft. Then enjoy a snack in the summit restaurant
before walking down one of the many trails. You can trace where
the Black River links a chain of lakes alongside the scenic Route 100
to the north of Ludlow. |

 This
traditional clapboard 1829 inn is just one block from Ludlow town centre,
situated on a quiet street, with views of Okemo Mountain. This
is perfect for a four season family or romantic getaway. It
offers a selection of guest rooms for two people and two person luxury
solitude suites in the Main Lodge, two person luxury suites and family
apartments (up to 4 people) with full kitchens in the nearby guest
house. The Victorian townhouse has fully equipped three and four
bedroom apartments that can sleep up to 12. There is an informal
ambience of fireplaces and antiques, with tasteful decor and lovely
gardens. Excellent country breakfast is included for suites and
main lodge guests but not for apartment guests. An evening meal
is served on Fridays and Saturdays. Children are welcome in the
family apartments and townhouse. |

 This
is a good quality motel/inn, just off the Main Street with a five minute
walk to shops and restaurants in the centre of town. A
selection of modern bedrooms with private bathrooms, some with kitchenettes
and joining bedrooms. Wooden clapboard two-storey buildings are
on three sides of a courtyard with an outdoor swimming pool in the
middle. There are several buildings recently refurbished to offer
additional accommodation. The rooms have air conditioning, small
fridge, TV, telephone, hair dryer, coffee maker and an iron. Plenty
of parking. Stroll into town for breakfast. Child friendly. |
