MAINE - The Pine Tree State

Maine is the largest and most northerly state in New England.  It has vast, pristine national parks and a magnificent rugged coastline; it is an outdoor enthusiast's nirvana.

With forested landscapes, interspersed with many lakes and rivers, it is home to a huge quantity of wildlife including deer, black bear and moose.

And for those seeking extra excitement, there is seemingly endless scope for canoeing and whitewater rafting, mixed with good fishing in the summer and well equipped ski resorts for winter pastimes.

Superb restaurants offer wonderful fresh Maine lobsters and seafood.

Outlet stores in Freeport, Kittery and Ellsworth offer discounted famous designer labels and draw shoppers from throughout the country.

There is also a plethora of concert halls, theatres and galleries featuring some of the best American artists and performers.
