Situated
beside the largest lake in the state, Moosehead Lake, about a 5 hour
drive from Boston, this resort provides what can only be described
as a whole backwoods experience. 17 lakeside rustic
cottages consisting of 1-3 bedrooms, sleeping up to 8, 1 bathroom with
shower only, efficiency kitchen (no dishwasher or microwave), woodburning
stove, BBQ and deck just feet from the lake. Stunning views of
the lake and Mt Kineo from your front door. The main lakeside
lodge has 4 double rooms with shared bathrooms, a good restaurant for
breakfast, boxed lunches and evening meals, bar, some evening entertainment,
a deck beside the lake and boat dock. Wonderful experience!
Activities at the resort include:
- Water sports from the on site marina - canoeing, sea kayaking,
sailboat and whitewater kayak hire and school, pontoon boat trips
- Whitewater rafting trips on the Kennebec, Dead and Penobscot rivers
