Located
beside one of the east-west roads that wind through the Green Mountains,
the tiny village of Ripton nestles in the valley of the Middlebury
River. This was a staging post on the Middlebury to Woodstock
turnpike road in 1800, and also home to the poet Robert Frost. The
area abounds with scenic walking trails and the Long Trail runs intermittently
for the length of Vermont and passes near to Ripton. The
B & B still provides excellent hospitality to travellers, and is
very comfortable, informal and homely. A variety of room types,
all with private bath and some with air conditioning. A five-course
dinner is offered (requiring a day's notice) and an excellent breakfast
will keep you going all day. |
