The
sleepy little town of Saxtons River is situated in the scenic rolling
foothills of the Green Mountains adjoining the Connecticut River valley
in south eastern Vermont. Once a thriving mill town it is home
to the prestigious Vermont Academy. The Victorian legacy can
be seen throughout the town with a rich selection of traditional architecture. There
has been an inn on the site since 1818 and the present building dates
back to 1903. There is a strong Victorian theme in the
elegant decorations and furnishings throughout the inn, which has been
carefully and tastefully restored over the last few years. Relax
on the wide veranda and watch the world go by or enjoy a sumptuous
meal of fine American or European cuisine. |
