The list of activities available in this valley is endless. Ride
the cog railway to the top of Mount Washington or take a cable car at
one of the ski resorts in the valley, then hike along the Appalachian
Trail at Pinkham Notch. Then canoe down the Saco River, or go white
water rafting. You can drive the spectacular Kancamagus Highway
to Lincoln, explore some of the small, pristine lakes of Ossipee and
Conway and some of Maine's wonderful lakes - Kezar, Sebago and Long Lake. Tennis,
fishing, swimming. The outlet shops and restaurants of North Conway. A
mountain biker's, hiker's or golfer's paradise. |

short walk to the nearby sandy beach on Silver Lake. The hamlet
of Silver Lake is delightful, very rural, yet just a short drive away
from North Conway with its outlet shopping, restaurants and the splendid
Mount Washington Valley. There is an old, disused railway line
running nearby that in winter is a popular snowmobile trail. The
inn is an 1876 Victorian building and has been in the same family since
its construction. It has been completely refurbished over the
last 3 years. It is set on a knoll, overlooking the lake. There
are three lovely bedrooms with en suite bathrooms with either double
whirlpool baths or a double shower, two with lake views, all furnished
in Victorian style. A full breakfast is served every morning;
tea and afternoon refreshments are always available. The owners
have a canoe, a rowing boat and dock that is available to guests. Well
behaved children are welcome.
There is also a spacious two bedroom suite. Separate entrance off
the porch. Stairs going up to a landing. On the left there
is a bedroom with a queen bed, on the right there is a living room with
a queen sleep-sofa. Bathroom with tub/shower combination. The
second bedroom is next door to the living room with two single beds. Plenty
of hanging space in all rooms. Some lake view. Breakfast
included.. |
