Our B & B in VergennesWith rolling foothills leading up to the Green Mountains in the east and Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains in the west, Vergennes is ideally situated for a western Vermont base.  From here you have easy access into New York State and can explore battlegrounds of the American War of Independence, Fort Ticonderoga, the Shelburne Museum, Burlington and the Green Mountains.  This B & B has extensive historical connections with the area and was built in 1834 and is a fine example of the Federal style with Greek Revival influences.  It is now a delightful and comfortable home with all bedrooms having private bathrooms, each decorated along a different theme from standard to luxury.  There are quilting and garden design courses.  Children over 8.
