in a beautiful area of mountains and lakes, with easy driving to the
ocean and the cultural city of Portsmouth, the well-preserved village
of Wakefield was founded in 1774, and encompasses white clap board
houses, a steepled church and picket fences. The inn
was built in 1804 and has a rare 'flying' spiral staircase. This
B & B offers all the creature comforts that you expect from a traditional
1890s stagecoach country inn. Choose from seven attractive en
suite bedrooms, each tastefully decorated with a pot pourri of ruffled
curtains, small print wallpaper, quilts and plants. Awake to
