This expanding inn now has three adjacent sites and comprises two very good quality motor inn type accommodations and a recently converted old farm barn, with plenty of parking. Located beside Route 7 just 1½ miles south of Williamstown, it is a delightful spot, set back from the road, with rocking chairs on the veranda overlooking the stream, landscaped gardens and a gazebo. Here the en suite rooms have either 2 double beds or a king. The old farm buildings next door house the restaurant - arguably the best eating in town - and a selection of large luxury B & B suites with antiques, some with king beds and canopies, double whirlpool baths and upscale amenities. Across the road is the swimming pool and the duck pond - with ducks. Here there are rooms with 2 queen beds, and the Sweetheart room has a queen canopy bed and whirlpool bath for two. Upstairs is a one bedroom apartment with a queen bed, full kitchen and bathroom, a queen sofa bed in the living room and sliding door onto a small deck and stairs down to the lawn. A continental breakfast is included and the luxury suites have a three course candlelit breakfast. For the luxury suites children over 15, otherwise all children are welcome and children under 8 are free. |

This wonderful old inn, set in the heart of the southern Berkshires, was built in 1780 when it was a stagecoach stop. Retaining its 'old world charm' there are 18 full of character en suite bedrooms, a two bedroom suite and three first floor sitting rooms, one with a TV and all with wood burning fireplaces. The bedrooms vary in size and have a selection of bed types, all with private bathrooms and air conditioning and no TVs. A continental breakfast on weekdays and full country breakfast at the weekends is included. The very popular restaurant provides distinctive country fare from two menus in the beautiful dining room and in the informal Tavern; these are open from Wednesday to Sunday and reservations are necessary. There is live entertainment at least twice a week. |
